YAY! My first finished piece of art in 2-3 years!!! Don't ask how this happened with that much lack of practice. I don't know. I need to improve most certainly (this took way too long for it's own good) plus I need to try more styles and branch out. But it's good for my first.. fresh start/first picture of the rest of my life. ^^
Anyways, this pretty thing is Count D. It's a fan art. I do not own him! His bat-rabit thing is Q-Chan! Count D is MALE. Not female. He's from my favourite manga "PetShop of Horrors" by the talented Matsuri Akino.
Also, this picture exists thanks to Jupebox from GaiaOnline. I did a little art auction and she was one of the winners. She requested I draw Count D.. which blew my mind seeing as he is coincidentally one of my favourite characters. So this is a gift for her. :3
Done in photoshop CS2 with a million layers and a lot of time experimenting. But I learned a lot with this.. so hopefully my next picture will not take so very long.
For anyone curious, the line art is HERE. I traded the curtain tassels for the lace. I don't know why.. I just had an urge to attempt lace for the first time.
No ref. I had a ref for one rose, but then scrapped it and did everything myself, as the ref didn't help me for this picture. Although it gave me a better idea on how to handle light on the flower petals. (Maybe I just suck at finding good ref.. ^^)
Long description indeed. I'm just thrilled I finished something. <3
Yay it is finished! And I love the way you draw and color hair. It looks so soft and shiny *.* Ahh. How can anyone not love D? *sighage*

"And since we were shooting this in a cave, I asked the director where the lightsource was meant to be in this scene. And he said: `Exactely where the music is.`" (Sean Astin, LOTR) ^_^
This is amazing! D is one of my favourite characters also, and you captured him really well. I really like the colours you used and the softness of the shading. Q-chan looks really cute too

The amount of pixel money paid for this DOES NOT EQUAL the awesomeness you supplied in return. D:
Thank you SO MUCH for drawing D for me. The time you put into this picture shows and it blows my mind. <3
Good luck with future endeavors! I'll have to stalk you and see about snagging more prettiness from you some time.

Don't knock on death's door...ring the doorbell and run. He hates that.
Your colors are so rich and bold, I just want to touch things in the picture and feel them.
